Di cosa sono fatte le extension ciglia?

What are eyelash extensions made of?

Every lashmaker has wondered at least once what eyelash extensions are made of, after all who has never heard of "mink eyelashes" or "silk eyelashes" at least once?

All these concepts were invented more than 10 years ago to classify a material based on thickness or the presence/absence of shine when eyelashes sold them loose in bags or round packages (you remember right?) and signs didn't yet exist.

Now these names are a thing of the past, and using these words in the lexicon, you can understand a lashmaker who has not undergone advanced training for a long time.

But let's get back to us and answer the question!

What are eyelash extensions made of? 95% of the lashes are made from a hypoallergenic synthetic polymer, whose official name is polybutylene terephthalate (PBT).

This is a very durable and elastic type of plastic, which is why modern eyelashes are so easy to use. The material for the eyelashes is constantly being modified to make the eyelashes better, stronger and heat resistant.

It often happens that eyelashes left long enough in a palette begin to lose their curvature - this happens with poor-quality fibers. Same story with steamers, saunas, hairdryers or an open oven: if the eyelashes lost their curvature due to the flow of hot steam, it means that the ciliary fiber was the cheapest and of poor quality.

If you use lashes made from modern updated PBT, this doesn't happen. So choose carefully the brand you work for and we at Cilio will always give you a hand in your choice.
