Long, voluminous, beautiful, and curled lashes can fully replace makeup, giving every woman a special charm. There is a wide variety of mascaras on the market with all kinds of effects. Lengthen, curl, add volume, separate – choose any! But why, when you can significantly reduce makeup time by using modern methods?

1. What is eyelash lamination.

Eyelash lamination is a treatment that gives natural lashes a beautiful curl, color brightness, shine, and density. All thanks to the active ingredients in the product composition, particularly keratin. As a result of lamination, the lashes look very expressive, long, and beautiful, and the look is natural and well-groomed. In fact, lamination is a healing procedure with a visible aesthetic result. The lashes are not only transformed externally but also strengthened from within, receiving a dose of vitamins and trace elements, becoming hydrated and healthy. Even after the procedure, you can notice that the lashes grow faster.

During lamination, the eyelashes are lifted and fixed on rollers/curlers/pads. Then the solutions are applied to the lashes (there are three in total). First, a solution is applied that cleanses the hairs and opens their scales, allowing the following solutions to penetrate the eyelash structure. The second solution nourishes the hairs with keratin and vitamins, and the third fixes the result. During the lamination process, you can tint the lashes if you want to add brightness to the color, as well as do Botox to further strengthen the lashes.

The procedure lasts about 1.5 hours and the effect lasts about 1-2 months, depending on individual body characteristics and eyelash care.

 

2. Pros and cons of eyelash lamination.

• A long-lasting result that will satisfy with its perfection for up to 1-2 months.

• Unlike extensions, when you laminate eyelashes, the result fades gradually. There are no "gaps" caused by fallen lashes.

• During lamination, no correction/refill is needed. The solutions wash off on their own without causing any discomfort.

• Eyelashes can be tinted with mascara to give them extra density.

• Lamination is faster than extensions, which will help save time.

• Eyelash lamination is suitable for absolutely everyone, regardless of the length and density of the lashes, as well as the shape of the eyelid. However, it is better recommended for girls who have long, dense, and thick lashes. For girls with weakened and short lashes, the result will hardly be noticeable.

• After lamination, it is not necessary to constantly carry a brush to comb and set the lashes so that they are always perfect and tidy, as they will look natural in any case.

• Lamination, unlike extensions, has no contraindications such as not sleeping face down on the pillow or avoiding solariums, saunas, steam baths, and other "hot" places. High temperature and humidity do not affect lamination in any way and do not shorten its duration.

3. What is eyelash extension.

 

Eyelash extension is a procedure that consists of applying an artificial eyelash to a natural eyelash with a special professional glue. Extension techniques can be: classic, double volume (2D), triple volume (3D), Hollywood Volume / Russian Volume 5D-8D-10D. Depending on the technique, the lashmaker glues a certain number of artificial lashes to the natural lashes, thus creating volume. The thickness of the artificial lashes changes according to the chosen volume; the higher the volume, the thinner the applied lashes, so as not to weigh down and damage the natural lashes. You can choose not only the desired volume but also the curl, color, and length of the lashes.

The effect, with increasingly modern glues, lasts on average 4-5 weeks (in some cases up to 2 months). The duration is influenced by the quality of the materials, the professionalism of the lashmaker, the aftercare, the growth phase of the eyelashes when the treatment was performed, as well as the individual characteristics of the body. Gradually, the lashes will fall out, so a refill is necessary to keep the look always neat.

The treatment lasts about 2-3 hours, depending on the volume and effect.

 

4. Pros and cons of eyelash extensions.

The most important advantage of eyelash extensions is that you can forget about MASCARA for at least a month. When you wake up, you are already ready and made up, which saves a lot of time. Extensions are a great option for girls who have naturally thin, short, and sparse lashes.

Extensions are also often done on the eve of an important event. The procedure will allow you to radically change your appearance, transform, and achieve a seductive and expressive look.

• You will need to carry a brush and regularly comb the lashes so they look neat and are evenly separated.

• Sleeping face down on the pillow and rubbing your eyes is not recommended; otherwise, the lashes will lose their shape and start falling out faster.

•  After 3-4 weeks, the extensions will start to fall out, creating so-called "gaps." This point depends a lot on the lashmaker performing the treatment; if the lashes are placed evenly and ready-made fans are not used, the extension loss will also be even and the "gaps" will not be visible.

• The glue used for the treatment does not tolerate oily consistency and high temperatures. You will have to forget about oil-based eye products, as well as reduce visits to saunas or steam baths.

5. The fundamental difference between lamination and eyelash extensions.

Implementation methodology. In the case of extensions, artificial hairs are applied to the natural lashes, and during lamination, the natural lashes are covered with special compositions.

Treatment time. Lamination takes less time than extensions. In the first case, the specialist can perform the procedure in 1-1.5 hours, while extensions will take at least 2 hours, depending on the desired volume.

Effect. Both after lamination and after extensions, the lashes transform, becoming more expressive and beautiful. But after lamination, the lashes remain natural. After extensions, the lashes can look either natural and slightly lengthened or more lush and longer.

Additional opportunities. Lamination and extensions allow you to correct the anatomical features of the eye structure and reshape the gaze. However, this can be done more noticeably during the extension treatment. You will not be able to play with either the curl or the color of the lashes during lamination.

The fact is that the oily components of the compositions will not allow the glue to adhere properly, so the result will be short-lived.

Care after the procedures. 24 hours after lamination, you can continue your normal lifestyle without restrictions. When applying extensions, if you want them to last as long as possible, you should follow some care rules, which we wrote about above. At the same time, both after lamination and after extensions, it is better to use special products for cleaning the lashes.

 

6. What to choose: Lamination or Eyelash Extensions.

It all depends on you and what effect you want to achieve in the end. It is also worth considering the peculiarity of the lashes. Lamination can be done on weakened lashes prone to loss to strengthen and nourish them with beneficial components. However, the result will be practically invisible on short and sparse lashes. Extensions can give thin and short lashes additional expressiveness, volume, and length.

Also, after the eyelash extension treatment, you can see the "WOW!" effect. The lashes become much more lush and longer, and the look is more expressive. During lamination, the appearance of your own lashes improves, so the visible effect is almost nonexistent.
